Shopping Arcade - Railway Station

Type: Interior Design

Location: Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The shopping gallery will become a new point of attraction in the city, addressing the need for a high-quality public space near the railway station. Areas in front of railway stations have traditionally served as important retail destinations. Small purchases and a cup of coffee before a journey, in a safe and comfortable environment, are among the key functions of the passage. The concept draws inspiration from the atmosphere of travel and the local character of the place. Local materials and vibrant colour accents associated with national motifs create a bright, comfortable and fresh interior.

The interior is inspired by contemporary trends in retail spaces, combining technological and minimalist materials, carefully considered lighting, vandal-resistant solutions and local trends. The passage accommodates both small retail units and cafés that can be closed during the night.

Navigation and multimedia screens are also integrated into the space to support wayfinding.

The passage is conceived as a memorable and welcoming place, combining exterior and interior lighting with comfortable finishes. Natural local materials in a small-format arrangement, combined with metal surfaces, create a strong visual accent within the interior. Minimalist furniture and finishing details, combined with traditional decorative elements, give the interior a distinctive and charismatic character.

The food area follows a contemporary street-food concept, combining quality food and presentation with a trend-led interior. Creating an inviting atmosphere is particularly important for a passage located on a basement level.

The food court is designed for venues without hot kitchens, including coffee shops, confectioneries, ice cream cafés and snack outlets.

Particular attention is given to the atmosphere of the food court. The aim is to create a bright, comfortable and inviting space where visitors will want to spend time. Decorative lighting, wood textures and greenery bring warmth and a welcoming character to the area.

The interior focuses on several key areas: the passages leading to the railway station, highlighted by illuminated portals that provide additional wayfinding; the main shopping gallery; and the food court.
