Lobby interior design

Type: lobby interior designe

Location: Astana, Kazakhstan

Stage: concept

Client: BI Group

The project brings together modern architecture, a thoughtfully designed landscape, and an engaging two-level lobby layout. The interior is conceived in a natural, earthy palette and works with a restrained, elegant language. Its character is shaped by double-height space, natural stone accents, textured glass finishes, and carefully balanced lighting.

The overall mood is described as smart, natural, and architectural. The interior draws on its connection to nature through subtle natural accents, while statement marble and warm metal elements underline the quality of the residential project and connect it to its surroundings.

The concept is based on a natural yet modern palette. Plain surfaces are combined with expressive natural textures and metal, while soft furnishings and subtle décor complete the composition. The project aims for an interior that feels modern, elegant, and welcoming at the same time.

A strong role is given to unusual finishing materials and accent details. The approach combines modern, minimalist architecture with carefully selected elements that add character without making the space feel overloaded. Handmade décor and decorative fabric wall panels are also introduced as part of the connection to nature and craftsmanship.

The lobby is organized as a double-height space that emphasizes vertical proportions and openness. Metal ceiling panels with integrated lighting create a calm, structured rhythm, while suspended cylindrical luminaires add a sculptural accent and reinforce the vertical character of the space.

Natural finishing textures play a key role here. Stone surfaces, textured glass panels, and warm-toned metal details create a tactile, layered environment. The textured glass wall reflects light and produces a soft shimmering effect that changes throughout the day, while the staircase is treated as a calm architectural element with integrated step lighting that guides movement upward.

The lobby layout includes lift halls, technical rooms, a utility closet, a stroller room, and a teenage room arranged across two levels.

The elevator lobby continues the design language of the main lobby. Warm, muted tones and soft lighting create a restrained and intimate atmosphere, gently transitioning from the public space toward the apartments. The typical floor is designed as calm and minimalist, with warm wood surfaces, integrated lighting, and refined metal accents. In the corridors, integrated lighting subtly highlights apartment numbers, while curated artwork on each floor supports wayfinding and strengthens the residential atmosphere.
