The BIG PICTURE developed the interior concept for YOURT, a community center in Astana. The space is designed as an everyday place for the local community, bringing together work, meetings, learning, sport, children’s activities and a café within one compact environment.
The program includes a café, coworking area with a library, gym, conference and learning room, children’s area, mini meeting rooms, lounge and support spaces. This mix of functions allows the center to stay active throughout the day and support different user scenarios.
The project is based on the idea of a lively neighborhood space: open, informal and easy to enter. It should not feel overly polished or institutional, but warm, slightly naive and human in scale.
The concept follows the mood of young at heart. Calm areas for work and study are combined with more active social zones, spaces for children and quieter corners for rest. Glass partitions, open shelving and clear navigation keep the interior visually connected, while each zone retains its own character.
